Thanksgiving 2017 is in the box and as we look toward the Christmas and holiday season you might be thinking about doing some holiday shopping or experiencing some Christmas events around Kerrville Texas. Here are some of our favorite things that are happening this next month around Kerrville.
Gifts of the Season: A Holiday Miniature Show & Sale – through December 30 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the Museum of Western art will be unique holiday miniature show with artwork no larger than 14 inches submitted by 20 different artists around the area. If you’re looking for a unique and affordable Christmas gifts for those who have everything, this miniature artwork sale might be just the ticket.
The Night in Bethlehem – On December 1 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church is a live walk-through of the Nativity scene.
Dickens Christmas Carol – December 1 through 2 at 7:30 PM at the Hill Country Arts Foundation is the repertory theater companies rendition of a Dickens Christmas Carol. This traditional tail is turned upside down in a traveling travesty into tumultuous acts. Mayhem ensues as the typical Christmas Carol is turned upside down with everything that could possibly go wrong in this hilarious and ridiculous event. The event kicks off at the Elizabeth Huth Coates Indoor Theater.
The Memory Ensemble: Christmas Memories December 2 – 3 at the Playhouse 2000 VK garage, which features a holiday concert with Christmas favorites from the stage, screen, and television. Enjoy selections like “the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” “Silver Bells” and Many More. Show times are Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:30 PM.
Pancakes and Princesses – Dec 2, 9 AM to 11 AM at the Ridge Marketplace. This is perfect for the little princess in your family. The Café at the Arrearages hosting a princess meet and greet with Princess Anna, Queen Elsa, and everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf. Come in your princess outfits and have breakfast with the Frozen crew.
Symphony of the Hills “Gloria” at the Cailloux Theater on December 7 from 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM with the highest level of beautiful music performed in the most beautiful way.
Christmas at the Kroc on December 9 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. This free, communitywide event celebrates Christmas with friends and fellowship at the center.
A Night in Who-Ville – is on December 9 at 5:30 PM at the Kerrville Schreiner Park. Join us for this free event with games, candy cane hunt, and real live Who-people! The classic animated 30-minute movie of Dr. Seuss is, “How the Grinch Stall Christmas” will be playing at the amphitheater so bring your family, blankets and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn located at 2385 Bandera Hwy. in Kerrville.
The Nutcracker at the Cailloux Theater is featuring their rendition of this traditional ballet at 7:30 PM on December 15. It’s been eight years since the Nutcracker was performed at this theater.
Hill Country Bizarre – December 16 from 9 AM until 5:00 PM at the Hill Country Veterans Center. Enjoy baked goods and handcrafted items or find that perfect gift for the person who has everything.
Gingerbread House Decorating at the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library on December 16 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and again from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Registration is required.
Wild West Victorian Festival December 15 through December 17 at 10:00 AM at the River Star Arts & Event Park. This is a unique treat for a retro-futuristic adventure set in the 1800s. If you like steampunk, time machines, and cowboys, you’ll love this unique festival operating Friday and Saturday from 10 AM until 5 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Check around with local churches for Christmas Eve services. The Notre Dame Catholic Church, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, The Sanctuary Church, Hosanna Lutheran, Holy Cross Lutheran, and others will be participating in Christmas eve events on December 24.
