Tierra Linda Ranch is located about 4 miles north of Kerrville Texas. It’s one of the only subdivisions in the area that has a private airstrip right in the community. There are 10 hangers, all of which are leased. A home owner may be able to lease a hanger with the purchase price of a particular home if that homeowner had previously leased a hanger and is now moving. Most of these aircraft hangers are 36′ x 42′ sitting on a 3000 paved strip with fuel and tiedowns for guests.
The Tierra Linda Ranch airstrip was created in 1966 with an elevation of 1990 feet. There is no air traffic control tower at the airport but the runway is 3000 feet long, 50 feet wide and is asphalt paved. Ownership is private. There is no additional charge to use the airstrip for homeowners but the hangers are leased for an additional fee. Tiedowns are free for guests and homeowners.
Individual homeowners may have hangers on their property but there is no taxiing along the roads throughout the community. The runway is deer fenced as well to prevent as much wildlife deterrent as possible. The Tierra Linda Ranch has a lot of abundant wildlife throughout the community. There are over 3000 acres and over 250 homes.
Homeowners dues in this community are about $800 a year. This includes trash pickup, boat and RV storage and management of the community.
The airstrip is located just off Wood Duck Lane and Lake Drive, just a couple minutes from Harper Road. There are a few homes close by but many of the properties are located north of the airstrip. This airstrip is charted and can be used in cases of emergencies.
The closest airport to the Tierra Linda Ranch Airstrip is the Kerrville municipal Airport located at 1877 Airport Loop. After that is the San Antonio International Airport, which is 53 miles.
